Moon Manicure Madness!

Make a statement this summer with this cool manicure.

moon-mani-postCheck out the latest nail trend! The moon or half-moon manicure is the reverse of a French manicure. It originated on the big screen in the 1920’s and remained popular into the 1940’s.

Recently, it’s made a comeback with celebs like Demi Lovato, Khloe Kardashian and Rihanna.

It’s easier than you think to create these eye-catching nails for yourself.

First choose the two polish colors you want to use. For a dramatic look, it’s better to use opposing colors like black and white or black and nude. For a pop of color, mix and match bright colors to create a look that’s as unique as you!

Three easy steps to get the moon manicure look!

Step 1. Start with a base coat. Choose whatever colors you like. We are using black and white for this demonstration. Use an opaque white polish to paint your full nail. Allow polish to dry completely, approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

Step 2. Apply a stencil sticker in a semicircular shape to the bottom portion of your nail. You can use stencil stickers found at your local beauty supply store, or hole-punched reinforcement stickers, found at office supply stores.

Step 3. Apply two coats of black polish, starting from the stencil and ending at the nail tip. Allow polish to dry completely before peeling off the sticker. For a perfect finish, apply a clear top coat over the entire nail.
