Brand Spotlight: American Crew

Founded in 1994 by renowned hairstylist and photographer David Raccuglia, American Crew is a men’s hair styling and grooming brand. Known as an innovator, it’s been at the forefront of the men’s grooming movement, having recognized early that men were beginning to pay just as much attention to their looks as women. The brand’s aim is to provide guys with the tools, knowledge and products to gain the look and style they desire.

Created just for men and their hairstylists, the past two decades have seen American Crew become one of the most sought-after men’s grooming brands, not just in America but internationally too. Over time, American Crew has focused on more than just men’s grooming; it has become a trend-setting lifestyle brand. It is the brand to look to for the latest trends, as well as the products and tools needed to achieve them.

The American Crew brand aims to give its customers all they need to achieve stylish and masculine looks every day. Its product lines reflect this ethos, offering styling products, hair and body care, as well as shaving products. The brand has products for all hair types and styling products for all finishes and holds. Its products are available to both salons and the individual in retail outlets and online.

Awards Won by American Crew

American Crew is driven by its tagline, “We make the products that make the man,” but it also makes products that take home the awards. Recent accolades include:

  • 2014 – Winner of the GQ Grooming Awards
  • 2015 – American Crew Liquid Wax named in the Men’s Health Grooming Awards
  • 2015 – American Crew Fiber wins a Men’s Fitness Look Great Award

Inspired by an American Icon

In 2016, American Crew joined forces with an American icon to create a limited edition range of products. Inspired by “The King,” Elvis Presley, the brand paid homage to the ultimate style icon for men. Elvis’ trademark quiff started a style revolution, and to this day he remains an inspiration for both the individual and the industry. To pay tribute to Elvis’ use of pomade, American Crew released six styling creams, each featuring a different picture of the triple threat — a perfect nod to the King of the Pompadour.

For classic, masculine styles and products of quality, American Crew is the brand to choose; it’s the “Official Supplier to Men.”
