How to Get Hailey Bieber’s Braided Look

From chic to laid-back, Hailey Bieber’s sultry style always captivates. Even when wearing oversized, slouchy athleisure, Hailey looks put together. She has perfected her sleek pulled-back hairstyle, but when she lets her hair down, it’s lustrous, long, and adorned with braids daintily arranged around her face. The most notable thing about the rope braid and face-framing braids is that it is a departure from Hailey’s usually pulled-back look. In this tutorial, we’ll break down how to achieve the bohemian-chic, plaited style inspired by our muse, Hailey Bieber.

As you can see in the before-and-after photos below, just a few braids can transform a whole look. These face-framing braids harken back to the 1960s hippie hairstyle.

Before beginning, wash your hair, blow dry, add a volumizing mousse at the roots and finish with a shine spray. The look should take 30 minutes to achieve.

Step One: Wash and dry the hair with a thermal brush or special blow dry brush to add body and volume to the hair. Using a curling iron is optional.

Step Two: Separate four equal sections of hair–two on each side of the hairline, near the forehead, and two, on each side, above the crown of the head.

Step Three:  Braid the strands on each front section. Tie with an elastic rubber band.

Step Four: Loosen the braid by gently pulling at the plaits to give a fuller, laid-back look.

Step Five: Create rope braids for the rear sections by separating the strand into two and twisting them together. Wrap one strand counterclockwise and then clockwise until reaching the end.

Step Six: Secure with an elastic rubber band.

Step Seven:  Finish the look with holding spray for long-lasting wear.
