It requires 1,000 TDLR clock hours, which works out to about 7 months on the fast-track schedule (Monday–Friday, morning-afternoon or afternoon-evening) or roughly 13 months part-time. It’s the path toward hairstylist, colorist, platform artist, or eventually salon owner.
Esthetics is more skincare-focused – facials, waxing, chemical exfoliants, advanced treatments. It requires 750 TDLR clock hours, about 5 months fast-track or 10 months part-time. There’s a SalonCentric professional beauty supply in the same plaza as campus, which comes in handy once you’re building your own kit.

Krum’s history runs through wheat and rail as the town was once one of the country’s largest inland grain markets, and downtown along McCart Street still has that small-town backbone, right down to the Krum Heritage Museum sitting in the old Farmers & Merchants Bank building. It’s not the kind of town that needs its own beauty school, and it doesn’t have one.
What it does have is a short drive to a college town that does: Denton, home to both the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University, with a beauty market that a town Krum’s size just can’t sustain solo.
